Designed as an escape to the countryside, Hôtel Restaurant Les Prés is ideally located just two hours from Paris, near Mortagne-au-Perche in Saint-Hilaire-le-Châtel, Orne.
Once a hunting lodge for the Lords of Pigeon before the French Revolution, the estate later became home to the Marquise de Longueil, and then for 150 years, it served as a residence for the Sisters of Notre Dame de la Fidélité.
A serene retreat in the heart of nature, the estate offers nine rooms imbued with calm, beauty, and refinement, inviting each guest to experience the manor in their own way, at their own pace. Stéphane Renaud and Éric Brossard, the estate’s hosts, have lovingly restored and enhanced the property to reveal its finest features and ensure every stay is an exceptional moment and a unique experience.
Rooms and lounges open onto a sprawling park adorned with century-old trees and bordered by the gentle flow of the Hoëne river below. From the first signs of spring, gardens and the vegetable patch come alive alongside the pool area and its charming pool house, framed by cypress trees and grand stone walls.
Invited to share the lounges and gardens in a simple yet warm atmosphere, reminiscent of a lively and joyful family home, each Guest experiences Les Prés at their own pace. The grand rooms on the first floor have been restored to their original spaciousness, offering sweeping views of the majestic park. Meanwhile, bespoke rooms and suites created in the attic are each unique, captivating with their generous proportions, comfort, and elegance.
Stretching along the 19th-century winter garden gallery, the restaurant at Les Prés unfolds beneath a stunning glass and steel canopy, surrounded by a walled garden brimming with flowers and home to the restaurant terrace.
Chef Stéphane Renaud takes inspiration from the estate’s vegetable garden to craft a menu that evolves with the seasons. Celebrating the finest fresh, locally sourced ingredients, his cuisine reflects a refined yet generous Maison style.
The estate’s park has been thoughtfully designed as a series of natural spaces where everyone can wander and enjoy a variety of activities.
From the flowing grasses of the graphic garden to the charm of a path leading to the orchard and the gardener’s hut, from the delightful vegetable patch open to visitors to the stream lined with meadows, the landscape is a mosaic of countless varieties of plants, flowers, and trees.
